Why 1:1?
It’s easier than ever to find a group Pilates class. so why pay for 1:1?
I love teaching group classes, they can offer an enriching shared experience at an accessible price. But of course in most classes the movements are chosen to provide a rounded session for the majority. This isn’t a bad thing, most of us need to practice the same skills (mobility, balance, posture and strength) to move and feel our best. However, because our unique habits, histories, and emotional and physical health distinctly influence the way we learn and experience our bodies, a group class might not be the best environment to create the substantial change you seek.
Many of us have experienced back pain, but how yours originates, and whether it is chronic, will drastically influence the approach we take when working to your needs in a private session. ALL movement is good movement, but by investing time to understand your circumstances and unique movement patterns on a 1:1 basis, I can work at your pace, choosing language and equipment that resonates, to offer you an understanding of your body that can empower lasting change.
